We dropped him off, perturbed. About an hour later we got a call to come pick him up, that he was "uncontrollable" and "vicious", and that he was a danger to himself because of his age (??? He's 3. Is that a thing?). We picked him up, we were told we could not return, and we went to a different store and bought clippers and finished grooming him at home. No problems whatsoever.
If you're looking for someplace to take your dog to get groomed and plan on using them long term (which is suggested because then the dog is comfortable with the groomer) I suggest looking elsewhere. My experience indicates they will do something to traumatize your dog, and then blame the dog when it reacts negatively.
The staff is very friendly and as much as my dogs hates getting a bath, she loves the women at petco! Thank you for taking great care of our dog!
This review is mainly about the groomer at Petco. The store is the same as any other pet store chain, overpriced but convenient.
The manager here is a miserable old cow typical overpriced chain store it's dirty it smells the lines are always long
Horrible absolutely horrible I took my moms dog and he is the sweetest dog ever and they called me telling me I needed to pick him up because he was "snapping" at them our dog never snaps we usually groom him being that he needed his nails clipped we decided to do the full package so I went to pick him up and he literally was patched straggles of hair everywhere his head or front legs weren't done it was horrible never again then they referred me to critter care. I'm so mad I wasted my time there.
Fast forward to yesterday, and we went to take our dog in for a bath and haircut. We called in to schedule, and they called back to confirm the day before. No mention of any issues, and we had heard nothing during any of his previous visits since they cut his paws.
We had been taking our cocker spaniel to this groomer for about 3 years (He is 3 and a half). About 10 months ago, we took him in and they shredded 2 of his paw pads when they were cutting his hair. We told them about it, they apologized, and we thought that everything was fine.
We absolutely love Brittany from grooming! I do not trust anyone with my fur baby and just the first time I met her I knew she would be so great with my girl. She does a fantastic job and always has my pup looking amazing! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
We got there, and when we went to drop him off the manager told us there was a new policy, and our dog had been marked as a vicious dog. Evidently every visit previous they had been muzzling him (which we had not been informed of), and the manager told us we might have to go and get him sedated (and told us what vet to go to, because I'm totally going to take my dog to a vet recommended by a groomer that can't control a 35lb cocker spaniel, who is not aggressive at home). My girlfriend offered to stay and hold him, and they declined. They said they would call if they needed help and she could come in and hold him.
