Our nightmare experience started with unbelievable backed up traffic. Sat for 5min.@ a time to move 1foot, extremely expensive to park. 10.00. waited in down poring rain for 45min. Only two metal scan stations for thousands of people. That was just one entrance, I saw another entrance and it was backed up with just as many people. The prices were ridiculous, 10.00 for a burger, 4.50 for a bottle of water. No one helping people to find their seats. Watched the show soaking wet. T.S.O. performance was spectacular however not enough to get me there again!! Just a nightmare of a first & last time experience!! Great Job mayor!!Also, how is it that the people next to me paid 30.00 more than I did and my tickets cost 90.00 more than the person who originally purchased them? It's not like the seats were padded just for my back end. There is way to many different prices for the same exact seats. Make up your mind, do you or don't you want people to come back? Set a price and that should be it, no matter what. It's scalping the customers!! VERY, VERY POORLY RUN!!
Saw trans siberian orchestra. Great Show, great sound. the one star review is for the absolute incompetency of the entrance process. Doors opened 30 min before the show began... for 10,000 people including a slow bag check. No PPL Center employees outside to help direct people to proper line (bag/no bag) ( it was raining, so they might have gotten wet). Hundreds were outside in a snaking line with the show started ~15 min late. They couldn't delay until more people entered since there was a second show later in the day. Worst job ever I've seen in entering a concert facility. People were still entering the Center 40 minutes into the show. So ... If you ever see a show there DO NOT BRING ANY BAG/PURSE into the Center with you. If there is a huge line for the no-bag entrance, have member of your party circle the building looking for another no-bag line and contact the rest of you by phone if a shorter line is found. That's what we did and we were able to enter ~5 min before the show started (we arrived 50 min before show time).
I went to Phantom's game. As always, everything was perfect. Also the team won, food was great, drinks and all the place were perfect. Cams and the big screen are incredible for kids. Great for sharing with the family.
Went to see transiberian orchestra who was amazing and will most likely see again. The lines for the arena getting in we're very disorganized. Will call tickets were not available in our line and there was no indication of where we to pick them up until we reached the front of the line. Also the "bag check" was pathetic. My wife had a normal purse, not one of those giant tote bags, and were told because it was too wide in one direction that we would have to return it to our car. This seemed totally random because other checkers would tilt bags diagonally and they would fit and would not bother to thoroughly check what's inside of the bag. If you're going to have a bag check at least be consistent and thorough. Ran into many people on the way to the parking deck who were returning their bags after getting to the front of the line. If anyone who weeks here is reading try announcing further down the line from now on, you will have much happier customers.
As with most sports complexes that have a lot to offer, it can be a little daunting finding where to go and the best way to get there. The staff at PPL Center all go out of their way to help, even when you can see they have a dozen other things they need to be doing. The facility is clean, the staff obliging and the food is great. It may seem expensive, but the overall experience is worth it.
